This is my first draft for my large scale charcoal drawing. Overall I think that i did decent considering that it was my first time ever using charcoal. I also think I did well because even though it was close up i could tell what it was. Some things that i could change would be the size of the drawing. While my drawing is close up I could still go closer and bigger. If I worked on that and shading I think that it would have a major improvement.
The objective of this project is to take an object, and replicate it on a much bigger scale with only a part of it in the picture. Charcoal is a new tool for me so i first need to learn how to use it befor i go on any art excursion. So that is my first objective. My second, is to noy make a huge mess, because i know that charcoal is capable of that and so am I. I am not quite sure on how I am going to succeed but it's going to be around the lines of draw first think later because I tend to overthin
This is my final hallway drawing. I think that this is a successful drawing because all of the lines match to the vanishing points and to each other, making the walls match up! I also think this because it shows some of the smaller detail from Mr. Aslamy's window lines to the wall poster and the screws in the wall. I overall think that I did a good job, and am happy about the outcome, except for the charcoal that got on it. This is my draft for the two perspective drawing of the hallway. In this drawing I haven't accomplished much, but i got the general feel for the hallway that I was drawing. It was a little but hard in the beginning because i wasn't on the floor, I was sitting on stairs. To add to the confusion half of my view was blocked by a wall that my paper wasn't big enough to show. Some things that i need to work on is alignment because even though my lines matched up with the vanishing points, they don't match up with each other Thus creating askew walls and such. I also need to work on the finer detail such as the lockers, the lines on the floor, and the ceiling tiles. But other than my minor complaints I think I did a half decent job. In conclusion to my endless rant I think that this was a great practice to have to prepare me for my final draft hallway drawing! Here is just a picture of me practicing a wall from a two point perspective. It can be hard to capture what a place really looks like but I tried. To make this better it could be from a farther away distance. This would help because when i'm so close it can be hard to get the perspective right with such close vanishing points. I could also pick Two point perspective is the name of the game. Instead of working on one point perspective like we did in beginning art, we are learning a whole new type of perspective; two point. In this we are focusing on different things such as the corner of a room instead of a wall. My goals for this project is to truly capture what a place looks like, so that it could be like a picture... but in pencil. Another goal is to make my drawings look realistic.
This is obviously my final. I think that I achieved the goals of this art project in many ways. One reason is that I have a clear message that is shown in my painting. I also did a good job painting and showing the message though my art. I like the diversity in the picture which is shown in different colors, sizes, and shapes. Overall I am happy with my final. This is my second draft with the official message; "Share Your Love". I like this more because There is another person in the picture to complete the message of sharing love. I also like the fact that I was original and came up with the idea on my own without help. So things I could improve on is my proportions of the people. I could also make them different or keep them the same, I haven't decided yet. This picture is better than the previous because the proportions of the people are different so they don't look exactly the same, because no people actually look the same. I also like this because there is nothing going on the the background, and the message is easy to figure out. There is nothing there that doesn't need to be. I came up with this idea because I was trying to find something that anybody could have and that everyone wants; and who doesn't want love? The painting was essentially going to be someone trying to give away his love, the message being just that "give away your love". But later thinking about it I thought that love has to be two ways, so on my next draft I think that there should be another person. But as a first draft I think that I did a fa |
